Sharing Entrepreneurial Freedom With Your Children

Entrepreneurs in The Strategic Coach Program learn to make the most of their time so that they can experience greater entrepreneurial freedom and a more satisfying, fulfilling, and balanced life.

It’s natural that every parent wants the best for their children, and entrepreneurial parents wonder if their children will take the same path and experience the same rewards.

There’s no longer any guarantee that a college degree will hold value out in the world. When you speak to your children about what kind of life they want to have, you can tell them that there are some benefits to going to college—but there are also benefits to doing things differently. And you can share these benefits from your own experience.

Are you expanding your entrepreneurial freedoms?

Strategic Coach is based on expanding four areas of entrepreneurial freedom—time, money, relationship, and purpose. If you’ve been in the Program, you can explain to your children that one skill you’ve developed is how to use your time in a creative, productive, and profitable way, and you can give them examples from your own entrepreneurial history of how you’ve grown by using the time management strategies you learned at Coach. Be sure to mention that because of the Freedom of Time you’ve developed, you have a lot of time to spend with them, whereas people who work for corporations or work in government often don’t have as much time for their children. Strategic Coach shows you how to take a lot of personal time away from work as well as how to use time management skills to become more productive in your business.

In addition to teaching you how to use your time management skills to experience Freedom of Time, Strategic Coach shows you how to gain Freedom of Money. And this often translates into our clients teaching their children that there’s no free money. They don’t give allowances, but instead teach their children by saying that there are jobs around the house that need doing and that someone is going to get paid for doing them.

So much of the successful outcomes of your life have to do with who you hang out with, and entrepreneurial parents have a much better developed concept of what constitutes healthy, productive relationships than others do. The most successful entrepreneurs surround themselves with other people who are excited about their work and lives. This is Freedom of Relationship, and it’s another entrepreneurial benefit you can share with your children.

The last great entrepreneurial freedom is Freedom of Purpose. You want your children to know that they have to go through certain processes in life and get acceptable grades, but that what really matters is figuring out what you love doing and learning the skills so you can do those activities and make money from them. In this way, you can become independent and spend your entire life pursuing what you truly love.

Setting your children up for success.

Children today have been born into an age where there’s more freedom to create a business than there used to be. You already know the enormous benefits of entrepreneurial freedom, and you have everything you need to explain to your children what being an entrepreneur is all about so they can decide whether to take the steps to follow in your footsteps.
