A lot of people might believe that entrepreneurs are only interested in money, but when you talk to really successful entrepreneurs, you find that they hardly ever talk about money as a goal or as an accomplishment.
As you develop and grow your capabilities, you can start to combine them in new ways to create something greater, but you’re also able to collaborate at a much higher level with other people.
There’s a big age gap between me and my next oldest and next youngest siblings. So, on the farm where I grew up in Northern Ohio, I spent the first years of my life without any playmates. When I dealt with anyone, it was with adults.
Like most entrepreneurs, you can probably instantly say what activities you find irritating or just okay and would like to be freed up from. But when it comes to things you find irritating, the input is coming from outside you—it’s an activity that’s outside of you, a situation that’s outside of you, a relationship that’s outside of you. So, to a certain extent, the world is doing the work for you. In other words, it’s irritating you and it’s not giving you stimulation that’s anything better than okay. You want freedom from these activities.
